Any questions?
Live Transcription
The demand for live transcription or live subtitling at conferences, panel discussions, or online congresses has risen sharply in recent years.
Why is that?
For one, more and more conferences, press conferences, or congresses are taking place online, for another, government legislation on accessibility is taking effect in an ever-broader scope. Another criterion is the often-inadequate audio quality of online broadcasts. This often has to do with the recipient’s individual technical options. Live subtitles or live transcription can rectify this.
Here ‘live’ means that the spoken word is processed in real time. On the recipient’s end, ‘live’ almost always includes a delay, which is inevitable from a technical standpoint.
No Limits provides live transcription or live subtitling for digital platforms. Everywhere, where small delays are also possible.
How does it work?
The image and audio of your event is transmitted to us, the spoken word is captured with the aid of automatic speech recognition and converted to text. As an option, our proofreaders can then edit the recognized text live before it’s published.
If you’d like to release the image, audio, and subtitles synchronously to an audience, there will be a time delay of up to two minutes in relation to the live event. For press conferences or other conferences that take place online, this doesn’t matter. Because viewers don’t perceive the delay. In exchange, they receive almost error-free subtitles.
Afterwards, we can supply you with an editorially revised, flawless transcript, if we’ve jointly created the technical and legal conditions for this.
Completely automatic transcription is also possible. This, however, is not error-free. Today’s automatic speech recognition systems cannot yet achieve this, even though the accuracy of their recognition has gotten to be impressive in the meantime.
